Merry Christmas Everyone! 🎁🎄

First of all, we would like to thank everybody for all the amazing and endless support until now!
This year has been a massive year for BLACKDOG and NightmareFuel Games as a whole.

A Year in Review

We have spent much of this year (maybe even a bit too) hard at work preparing for our first public showing of the project at Gamescom 2024. Our last release here was in October of 2023 and we have been continuously at work improving the Demo, based on the continuous support and feedback from our amazing testers and our community, which we are incredibly happy is slowly growing day by day!

Gamescom was an absolute blast! Our first ever Gamescom as NightmareFuel, BLACKDOG's ever public showing and the first time we have gone into the real world and represented the project. The uncertainty, the fear of what reactions we would get and what feedback we would receive...all gone after the first half an hour! We could not have asked for a more welcoming, encouraging and supportive crowd! Our booth was packed every single day. 

We thank all of you, who have visited us, joined our community, encouraged us and motivated us. We consider you our battle buddies. you have truly lit a fire under us to push ourselves even harder! We can't wait to take you all along for the ride with us on the journey of BLACKDOG!

What we are releasing today 

With all the encouragement, amazing feedback and generally brilliant reception for the Demo, we have decided to drop a little Christmas present!

We are releasing a Single Player version of the Demo from Gamescom for everyone to play. 
Note: This is not the Co-Op version, as this is a work-in-progress, but we wanted to make sure everyone can experience the soul behind BLACKDOG.

While it has a few bugs remaining, as well as some assets among our own custom ones, we truly feel that it conveys the feel of theBLACKDOG universe. As such, it is not a final representation of the full game to come.

Where do we go from here?

We have some huge plans for the coming year! 

We have not spent these last few months idle and we have been hard at work on a major update to the project. At the moment, this Demo represents the final iteration of what we call "V1". And as the name implies, there is a project codenamed V2 on its way.
